Our Story & Heritage
The story of “amaraalaya” is deeply rooted in the timeless wisdom of traditional Parambharya Vaidyam, a healing heritage carefully preserved and passed down through generations.
This journey began around 1900 through the knowledge and dedication of Late Srimathy Mathukutty Thankachy, the grandmother of our founder’s father. She was known for her deep understanding of medicinal plants and natural healing methods, preparing herbal remedies that helped many people maintain health and recover from illnesses, particularly those related to the liver.

Our Founder History
We also pay our respectful homage to Late Srimathy Padmavathy Thankachy of Kinattadivilakathu Puthen Veedu, Irumpuli Desam, Kanyakumari District, who played a significant role in preserving and passing on this valuable traditional knowledge. Through her blessings and guidance, the responsibility of continuing this healing tradition was entrusted to Late Shri N. Retnakeran Thampi, who carried the legacy forward with dedication and care.
Inspired by this rich heritage, the founder of Amaraalaya began deeper exploration into the science behind traditional herbal medicine. From 1993 onwards, he conducted research in the fields of biochemistry and gastroenterology, seeking to understand how traditional herbal knowledge could be supported and strengthened with modern scientific insight, particularly in the area of liver health.
Through years of research, learning, and refinement, the concept of “amaraalaya” gradually took shape — a herbal formulation that represents the harmonious blend of ancestral wisdom and scientific understanding.
After decades of inherited wisdom, dedicated research, and continuous refinement, the concept of Amaraalaya was introduced to the public in 2013 through Susrusha Pharma, marking an important milestone in offering a herbal formulation that blends traditional knowledge with scientific insight for supporting liver health.
Today, Amaraalaya stands as a symbol of tradition, trust, and natural healing, carrying forward more than a century of heritage while continuing to serve future generations with the wisdom of nature.
